2. Acatenango Volcano Hike, Guatemala
There is nothing on Earth like sleeping on the side of a volcano and watching its neighbor, Volcán de Fuego, erupt every 15 minutes. The hike up Acatenango is a grueling, 6-hour steep climb through cloud forests and volcanic ash, but once you reach base camp, the "fireworks" begin.
