About Me: The Story Behind the Lens
Hey, I’m Tim. I’m a 30-year-old explorer, photographer and videographer based in Germany. When my previous travel blog "Under Palmtrees" unfortunately was hacked and lost, I decided it wasn’t an end, but an opportunity for a fresh, more focused beginning.
That’s how Captured by Tim was born.
Why I Travel
For me, traveling is about more than just ticking off destinations on a map. It’s about the adrenaline of a new adventure, getting to know new cultures and people, and getting a better understanding of the world. Whether I’m hiking a remote trail or exploring a bustling city, my camera is always within reach to capture the soul of the journey.
My favourite way of traveling is very basic backpacking and getting in touch with the local people as much as I can. When I first started travelling outside of Europe in 2017 my passion for travelling started growing.
After a couple of more adventures I decided to finish my studies, to quit my job and apartment and to make a world travel. In 2022 I travelled through Central- and South America, worked in Australia and finished my world travel in southeast Asia. To travel for one and a half years was the best decision in my life and gave me so many memories, new experiences and new friends. Personally I grew a lot as well.
